Pruning is a visual art form. While observing each plant, I consider placement in the landscape and its natural growth pattern. I look at its surroundings and determine whether its well placed originally, when planted. When pruning is completed the plant has its space for new growth. It looks wonderful and cohabitating with its neighbor. My eye sees what is out of place while assessing the plant.
